Shou Sugi Ban

Shou Sugi Ban is a centuries long Japanese practice of burning wood. The heavily charred boards protect against sun, other elements, and insects. Different styles of wood and time spent burning give different colors and textures.

While this art takes some time to perfect and complete, it has a beautiful outcome.
